The short version

  • FitSesh is for adults 18 and older. No exceptions, not even with a parent's permission.
  • We collect what we need to match you with walking and workout buddies and keep everyone safe.
  • Other people see your approximate distance, never your exact location.
  • Your verification selfie is used only to confirm you're you, and your face data is deleted on a set schedule.
  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We never share information that identifies you with employers, insurers, or partners without your permission.
  • You can see, download, correct, or delete your data at any time.

1. Who we are

FitSesh is owned and operated by FitSesh App LLC, an Indiana limited liability company based in Indianapolis, Indiana ("FitSesh," "we," "us"). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the FitSesh website (fitsesh.app) and the FitSesh mobile app once it launches (together, the "Services").

2. FitSesh is for adults 18+ only

FitSesh is strictly for adults 18 and older, with no exceptions, including with a parent's or guardian's consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We ask you to confirm that you are 18 or older when you join the waitlist and when you sign up, and we may ask you to verify your age. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it and remove the account right away. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, please email sneha.varghese.ds@gmail.com.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Waitlist and contact forms: your name, email, ZIP code, and whether you're interested as a walker, community partner, or investor.
  • Account information: your first name, date of birth or age, gender, phone number, and email.
  • Profile information: up to 5 photos, prompt answers, what brings you to FitSesh, your comfort level, activities you enjoy, where and when you like to meet, languages you speak, and your usual spots.
  • Optional information: accessibility preferences (for example, flat paths, benches, or wheelchair-friendly routes), buddy style, and preferred days. You choose whether to share these.
  • Verification information: your phone number and a verification selfie (see section 6).
  • Messages and activity: messages you send, requests, matches, walk circles you join, and people you block or report.
  • Share my walk: the name and phone number of a contact you choose, and the walk details you share with them (see section 7).

Information collected automatically:

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Match you with people and walk circles based on your answers, schedule, languages, and distance.
  • Verify that profiles belong to real people.
  • Keep FitSesh safe: review reports, detect spam, scams, and fake accounts, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Run features you turn on, like Share my walk and walk circles.
  • Send you service messages, such as verification codes, match notifications, and safety alerts.
  • Send you news and updates if you agree, which you can turn off at any time.
  • Respond to your questions and support requests.

5. What other people can see

Other members can see your first name, age, photos, prompt answers, comfort level, activities, languages, verified badge, and your approximate distance (for example, "1.1 mi away"). We never show your exact location, phone number, email, or verification selfie to other members.

Walk circle hosts can see the first names of people attending their circle.

6. Face data from your verification selfie

To keep FitSesh safe, we ask you to take a verification selfie. We, or an identity verification service provider working on our behalf, compare your selfie to your profile photos to confirm that you are the person in them. This comparison may create measurements of your face, which some laws call "biometric identifiers" or "biometric information" ("face data").

  • We ask for your separate consent before you take a verification selfie.
  • We use face data only to verify your identity and prevent fake accounts. We never use it for anything else.
  • We never sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from your face data.
  • If we use a verification service provider, it may use face data only to perform verification for FitSesh, and we will name it in this policy before it processes your face data.
  • Retention and deletion: face data is permanently deleted within 30 days after verification is complete, or within 30 days after you delete your account, whichever comes first. In every case, face data is permanently deleted no later than 3 years after your last interaction with FitSesh.
  • We protect face data with the same or stronger security than our most sensitive information.

7. Location and Share my walk

  • With your permission, we use your device location to find people and walk circles near you. You can turn off location access in your device settings, though some features may not work.
  • Other members see only an approximate distance, never your exact location.
  • Share my walk is optional. When you turn it on, we send the walk details you choose (who you're walking with, where, and when) to the contact you pick, and remind them if you haven't checked in by the time you set. If you choose to share your live location during a walk, we share it only with that contact and stop when you check in or the walk ends.

8. Health-related and other sensitive information

Some things you share may reveal information about your health or background, such as choosing "My doctor said walk more," accessibility preferences, or the languages you speak. This information is always optional. We use it only to match you and show you suitable walk circles. We never sell it, and we never share it with employers, insurers, or advertisers.

9. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only:

  • With other members, as described in section 5.
  • With service providers who help us run FitSesh, only as needed to provide their services and under agreements that protect your information. These may include providers that host our website, forms, app, and database; send verification codes by text message; verify identity; review photos and content for safety; and help us understand how the Services are used.
  • With the contact you choose, when you use Share my walk.
  • For safety and legal reasons: to comply with the law or valid legal process, to protect someone from harm, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
  • In a business transfer: if FitSesh App LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, and this policy will continue to apply.
  • With your permission, for any other purpose.

Partners, employers, and insurers: we may share only aggregated, de-identified statistics (for example, "300 walks happened in Indianapolis this month") that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. We will never share information that identifies you with an employer, insurer, or partner without your permission.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers for targeted advertising. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and give you a way to opt out before it happens.

10. How we review messages

We do not read your private messages, except when a message is reported to us, when we need to investigate a safety issue or a violation of our Terms of Service, or when the law requires it. We may use automated tools to detect spam, scams, and harmful content.

11. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Access the personal data we have about you and get a copy in a portable format.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects. (We don't do these things, but you can still ask.)

You can also edit most of your profile in the app, turn off location access, and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.

How to make a request: email sneha.varghese.ds@gmail.com or use Settings in the app. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will respond within 45 days, and if we need more time (up to another 45 days), we'll tell you why. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

Appeals: if we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" within 60 days. We will respond within 60 days. If you are an Indiana resident and are not satisfied, you may contact the Indiana Attorney General.

We will never treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
